community life

We have many programs designed to build community among our church members as well as in our larger community of Hilmar.

small groups

Small Groups are an essential part of spiritual growth and are the setting where true life-changing community can begin. There are a variety of Small Groups currently meeting throughout the week, for every age, gender, and interest. Bible studies, book studies, sermon review, and support groups are just some of the groups that are currently meeting. Join us for this life-changing journey.

We understand music is a cultural touchstone for every generation. We strive to connect the music to the message and we explore selections from way back to songs you might hear on the radio today. We have many ensembles of singers and instruments and enjoy hearing all of them. Whether it's a praise band, choir, handbells, piano, organ, flute, or something else, we use them all to worship God. Sometimes we have special musical events throughout the year, especially around the holidays.

  • Join the choir: Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:15 to 8:15 pm
  • Handbells: Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 5:15 to 6:30 pm
  • Sing or play an instrument with our worship team
  • Sound booth technician
  • Media specialist

prayer ministries

Prayer is central to the life of Hilmar Covenant. Besides our usual times and places for prayer, the Hilmar Covenant Prayer Team provides a more focused, intentional coordinated structure of prayer within our congregation. Prayer partners meet regularly to pray, prayer request cards and the all-church prayer chain offer opportunities for concerns and praises to be shared, the prayer room is available for people to be prayed for after every worship service, and a team of trained people are available for prayer and anointed with oil at any time - a very helpful, Scriptural way to receive spiritual care. The need can be great or small, and everything that is shared is held in strictest confidence. Call the church office to request someone to pray with you: 668-0400.

Also there is an all-church prayer meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:15 pm. Everyone is welcome.

We have a great library with tons of fantastic books! There are books for all ages, from babies on up, with a great variety of book types: fiction, Christian living, biblical study, parenting guides, historical biographies, and more. Pick out a book and curl up in a comfy chair or check it out to read at home. Come check it out today!

Kaffetåren den bästa är av alla jordiska drycker = Coffee is the best of all earthly potions

On Wednesday mornings, if you are having coffee by yourself, why not come and have coffee with us? Good coffee, good pastries, good fellowship! In the Family Center Library, 8-10 am every Wednesday.

Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 8:15 am

All ages are welcome to this fun, work-at-your-own-pace time for community exercise! Meets in Family Center gym. Contact Pastor Dan at the church office for more info.

spanish ministry

Hilmar is home to a sizeable Spanish-speaking community, many of whom do not yet understand English. A number of years ago, together with Iglesia del Pacto (our Covenant Spanish speaking congregation in Turlock), Hilmar Covenant began to reach out to these residents to discover ways we can meet their needs. Today, we have a number of opportunities to build relationships with the Latino community in Hilmar:

  • English classes for Spanish-speakers (including child care) These classes are finished for the summer (call the church office for times)
  • "Fit 'n Free" aerobics classes: 8:15 am M-W-F (children welcome)
  • Tuesday night open gym @ 8:30 pm, led by the men from Iglesia del Pacto

¡Bienvenidos a nuestra iglesia!
